Judicial Leadership
The Hon. Bryan Ramos serves as Chief Judge of the Municipal Court of the City of Brookhaven. Since joining the bench in 2023, he has expanded the Court’s indigent defense panel and language-access initiatives to help ensure equal access to justice. He also established the Court’s first virtual appearance program and opened the Court to civil unions and marriage ceremonies at no cost to the public.
Judge Ramos is a trailblazer in Georgia’s legal community, becoming the first Filipino American man to serve as a judge in the State of Georgia.
Legal Career
Before his judicial appointment, Judge Ramos founded Ramos Law, a boutique practice focused on workers’ compensation law. Earlier in his career, he served as local counsel for General Motors Corporation before dedicating his practice to representing Georgia’s working families.
His professional accomplishments include induction into the prestigious College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers in 2020. He holds Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating for legal ability and ethical standards and has been recognized as a Georgia Super Lawyer since 2010. Since 2020, he has also been named among Georgia’s Top 100 Lawyers.
Community Service & Advocacy
Judge Ramos has a longstanding record of civic engagement and public service. As a Regional Governor for the Filipino Veterans Recognition and Education Project, he led the Southeastern advocacy effort that helped secure the Congressional Gold Medal for Filipino veterans of World War II.
He has also served as:
- Executive Secretary of the Georgia Advisory Council to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights
- General Counsel to the National Federation of Filipino American Associations
- Board member and advisor to organizations including Asian Americans Advancing Justice, the Filipino Young Leaders Program, and the Georgia Council for Recovery
Leadership & Recognition
In 2025, Judge Ramos served as President of the National Filipino American Lawyers Association, the nation’s largest network of Filipino American legal professionals.
His community leadership has been recognized with numerous honors, including:

Personal Background
Born in the Philippines, Judge Ramos immigrated to the United States as a toddler. After spending his early years in Ohio, his family settled in Tallahassee, Florida. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Florida State University and a Juris Doctor from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law.
Judge Ramos and his wife, Annette, reside in the City of Brookhaven and remain active members of the community they serve.
